About Me

IMPORTANT INFO: At the moment I am embarked on a personal journey called maternity and won't be able to host :) I'll be back when the time is right :)

Please read the description of my place carefully before sending a request because we live in the countryside 17-20 km north of Luleå and transportation arrangements will be needed to get there (unless you have your own car).

CURRENT MISSION
Planning a garden and learning permaculture :)

ABOUT ME
Once upon a time a little girl was born in an island in the Atlantic... and a lot has rained since then :)
I am just an observant wonderer in this vast planet we call home, trying to learn from those who know and to humbly contribute to make the earth a better place. Despite living (at the moment) on the edge of the polar circle and enjoying more and more the emptiness and solitude of the landscapes, I still appreciate human contact and socializing with other creatures :) That, and the solidarity I feel towards my fellow travelers/wanderers/seekers are the main reasons I´m on couchsurfing.

PHILOSOPHY

Walk alongside another person in whatever journey they are on without judging them, making them feel inadequate, trying to fix them, or trying to impact the outcome- by someone.
I recently stumbled upon this quote from Einstein, which nicely summarizes what I lately feel... "those who have the privilege to know, have the duty to act". So, do it, say it!
I am a hopeless optimist, a believer, a day-dreamer, a skeptical, an eternal student.
Free hugs and dancing are both nice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I think it´s a beautiful idea and it helps to improve hospitability and humanity in this world that sometimes tends to be a little bit too individualistic. Sharing is caring!

Interests

I like spending time in nature and everything related to environmental protection and conservation, sustainable development, etc. And also outdoors activities like hiking, skiing, camping, climbing, etc. I have played volleyball a lot, and I love it. I would like to try many more things, like diving, paragliding, and get better at slack-lining and poi dancing.
I appreciate art, in all its forms. I enjoy visiting museums, operas and theaters a lot, and also looking at mundane street art. And reading books, many, all of them if possible. I always have a pile in my night-stand waiting for me to be read.
Traveling, is one of my passions. And I'll do it till the end. There is a special deep subtle knowledge that you acquire when you travel, while looking into people' eyes, listening to their stories, sharing a smile or a piece of baobab-fruit. That, nurtures my soul and enriches my existence, like anything else.
I also love sleeping.
It´s amazing how music can express the intangible feelings of your being, anytime, anywhere. Music, likely the drum, was the first sound.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most types of music, as long as it touches my soul by it sounds, rythms or lyrics.
I love reading books and while I travel I like to get books on the way, although that means by backpack gets heavier and heavier XD At the moment I am mostly reading historical books (The Silk Roads, My European Family) or food-for-thought books such as "Sapiens, brief history of humankind", "Homo Deus, a history of tomorrow", etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being alive!
I have sweet memories from...
...Swimming in the Great Coral Reef in Australia, I could feel my tears of happiness under the water
...Hitch-hiking from Athens in Greece, to Stockholm in Sweden, following sort of an eastern route :D Took us two months and it was an amazing experience of people and places
...Northern lights in Sweden... as if the sky was dancing
...Delphi, the Oracle, in Greece, is a magical place
...Ice-climbing frozen waterfalls in Abisko, northern Sweden - awesome experience.
...Crossing Tasmania out of the beaten track, platypus included!

What I Can Share with Hosts
