About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Meet people, eat food, drink drink, share stories, make music.
ABOUT ME
I'm from New Zealand working as a teacher, running a programme for Gifted and Talented students in my city. I have lived in London for 4 years before moving back to NZ in 2012. NZ is so far away from everywhere that I tend to miss the travel, people and cultures! I thought that traveling as much as possible for that time would get rid of my travel bug, but it really only made it worse.
I coordinate a lot of large events in Dunedin - festivals aimed to bring people together and celebrate community. It's voluntary work but I love it: a street party for about 10,000 people, a music festival held in a library and a swing dance festival. 😅
I play guitar and have a fair bit of experience playing professionally. I love to break out the guitar in parties. I love to write and record music, and have a variety of equipment to do so here. Recently I have been writing with my group The Mentalist Collective; https://www.facebook.com/TheMentalistCollective
...so if you're sitting in a hostel or host's living room planning your next trip, feel free to listen to some of my compositions here!

I've traveled to about 30 countries and love to share and swap stories of the different places people have been to. I have a few interesting ones myself.
PHILOSOPHY
I want to meet people. Drink their drink. Eat their food. Dance with them and their mothers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since joining I have done a fair bit of hosting and have had the pleasure of surfing with some fantastic people. I also like to get involved in community events and will probably try to be more involved in these as Dunedin could use more. I am a social person and love to meet new people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Been reading a lot of different kinds of books recently, but traditionally enjoy non-fiction novels of historic events.
Will watch and probably enjoy most movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Crashing a wedding in Luxor, Egypt. Wonderful to meet the local people and celebrate without them trying to sell me something!
2. Walking from end to end of Caye Caulker with Rastafarian friends. Only about 300m. Took about 2 hours!
3. After a night out in Cancun, Mexico, I woke up on the beach outside a 5-star hotel with nothing but grazes on my arms. Haven't touched tequila since.
Teach, Learn, Share
Learn Guitar, general music. Other philosophical thought on Educational and Developmental psychology. How to cook a nice savoury crepe. Event coordination!
