About Me

Life long Maritimer, dad, doctor, Bowie fan.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to help people along on their journeys whenever possible. Hosting travellers through couchsurfing is one way to do this. It is also a way for me to meet new, interesting people who I otherwise wouldn't meet. I've found that the couchsurfing community is one of open-minded, trustworthy, and kind people willing to share their knowledge and time with others.

Apparently Saint Brendan, a sixth-century Irish monastic saint, is a patron saint of travellers (and also of boatman, mariners, elderly adventurers, whales, and portaging canoes).

My home is a place where you are welcome to socialize and chat. Also, if you just need to recharge and be alone, you can do that too - read, meditate, watch Netflix, whatever you need to do.

My best travel experiences have occurred when staying with locals.....I enjoy meeting like-minded folks who prefer traveling with just a backpack.
