I grew up in Alaska and have always lived a fairly outdoors lifestyle. When I travel I plan my destination and travel goals around this as well, trying to mix in a fair amount of partying between. I'm more drawn to rural cites than urban life, but I still love visiting the cities in shorter doses and sharing in the culture.

I want to be able to have a less touristy experience, and joining up with locals is the best way to do this. I normally aim for hostels when I travel to at least meet people to adventure with. It is also nice to have a companion to help break the language barrier in foreign countries and give insight into what to do around the area.

Reggae, rock, rap, folk, etc.....pretty much anything good. Every genre has good and bad music.

Too many movies to think of favorites.

Most of the books I read lately are geology related and for educational purposes, so no favorites.

Spent a summer in a Geologist camping rock/soil sampling ridge lines and valleys over a 75km distance for months, while drinking beer with coworkers and running bears out of camp. The camp was only accessible by helicopter and we worked 7 days a week, Best Job Ever!
