Overview
About Me
I finished university a year ago, got a job, got complacent and finally made the jump to move to Australia, a long awaited dream of mine. I've had some wonderful encounters with locals and fellow travelers; those connections, among my good friends and family back home, I value most. I'm 24 and I love exploring new interests: I've worked in the service industry (hospitality), guest relations, tour guide, video editing, and most recently I was working as a brewer. So I'm handy, friendly, and I love people who can laugh at themselves too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm currently traveling through Tasmania seeing as much as I can. I have a working holiday visa though I'm definitely enjoying the holiday side of that visa at the moment. Though I love camping and hostel-hopping, I would like to meet some locals. Before I settle in for a job, I'd like to get a feel for the surrounding areas with the help of some Tassie residents.
Interests
Ready to count the cliches?
Being outside, remaining outside. Camping, hiking, reading, playing guitar, trying to sing, talking to strangers, hitch hiking, writing stupid haikus, snowboarding, bad jokes, beer, whiskey, riddles, dogs, coffee, pretty girls with a personality, simplifying, cars, clever sarcastic people, attempting surfing, telling and listening to stories around campfires or dinner tables. I guess traveling is ok too.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm currently listening to Deer Tick. The National, Youth Lagoon, Ryan Adams, Norah Jones, Alpine, Justin Townes Earle, Hilltop Hoods, Lord Huron, The Shins, Lana del Rey, Black Keys, Danger Mouse, The Felice Brothers... Too many to name, but I'm a fan of exchanging music. I just met the singer from Holy Holy in Launceston so I'm a big supporter now because he gave me a ride to my campsite.
I've seen Dumb and Dumber so many times that I can recite the whole thing. The Big Lebowski, Into the Wild, Vanishing Point, Fargo, Mistaken for Strangers.
Reading Catch 22 at the moment. Shantaram (can't wait to read Mountain Shadow), East of Eden, Breakfast of Champions, On the Road.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hang glide Byron Bay.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you to brew beer if you'd like. If you have a guitar we can jam! I'd love to learn more about Australia so share with me everything you know.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can answer any questions about America because I've traveled a fair bit back home. More importantly, I'm not one to shy away from work so if you need any help around the house, I'm your guy. Let's be friends and talk travel!
Countries I’ve Visited
