Overview
About Me
My wife, Rena, and I enjoy welcoming the weary or energetic traveler into our place. My mother taught me well the virtues of hospitality and friendliness. Si hablas espanol pero no ingles, podemos conversar no problemo (yo creo, pero vamos a ver). I'm a committed burner )'(, lover and former citizen of San Francisco, both of which strongly shaped my personality the way it is today.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Anyone who's ever been on the road knows what it's like to have a place to stay when camping options are thin, the weather is crappy or when you just feel like meeting a local. I've been there when people have extended their hand to me so I'd like to return the favor. I've been a part of houses that have had couchsurfers in the past, so I've felt like a member for years. More importantly, people that are willing to stay in a stranger's home have character and I wanna meet them!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I grew up on classic rock, musicals, grunge rock, reggae, alternative acoustic, alternative rock, a lil hip hop, classical music--though I still love most of this stuff, I don't listen to too much of it anymore...Nowadays, I'm more into electronic beats with funky bass lines that tap into different styles of traditional, ethnic, or just creative tones. I also dig indie folk/rock, afrobeat, old-time and non-jammy bluegrass.
Movies: All of Quentin Tarantino, most of the Coen Bros, many of Wes Anderson, all of Chris Farley, most of Jim Carey, Bill Murray, Daniel Day Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio, the list goes on.
Books: Research during grad school required reading scientific journal articles with big words and boring sentence structure...but a few of my reading-for-pleasure faves are On the Road, Desert Solitaire, and Guns Germs & Steel.
