About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm from a bit of here and there, and I've been a bit of here and there over the ages. I'm an eternal student of the world and it's inhabitants. The old bits, the new bits, and especially the very, very old bits.
I love languages, and language, and grammar, and syntax; and love ignoring all of it just as much.
Opals excite me: they remind me of Australian skies and dreamtime stories.
My favorite books may be Herodotus and Don Quixote, but they may also be The Giving Tree and The Monster at the End of this Book: Starring Lovable, Furry Old Grover.
I love board games, hiking, camping, cooking, exploring, stargazing, and learning.
PHILOSOPHY
A quote from Seneca has remained dear to me for a long time, "Non sum uni angulo natus, patria mea totus hic mundus est.", which roughly means 'I was not born for one small corner, the whole world is my native land'.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had a wonderful time being hosted while travelling through Europe. In addition, I found the community in Kaohsiung to be a good resource when I first moved there. It's a great way to meet people and have unexpected, exciting experiences.
