About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world for a year.
ABOUT ME
I'm a desinger from California on a year long trip around the world. I just came from Peru, Ecuador and Colombia: I'm exploring Europe all summer before heading to Asia in the fall.
I love traveling and seeing new places. I like taking risks, and think that if I'm not being challenged, I'm doing something wrong.
I am building a business while on the road. I promise not to talk your ear off about it, but I love how tech companies, especially ones in California, seek to try to make the world a better place. I love the ethos of San Francisco: 1 part hippie counter-cultural, 1 part entrepreneurial let's-give-it-a-shot, with a dollop of weirdness, shaken vigorously so you don't know quite what to expect.
I love architecture and the outdoors--especially backpacking, (ocean) swimming, and biking. I like meeting new people all the time, but my favorite thing is to get to know a small group of people really well.
PHILOSOPHY
"I want to take my rightful share of life by force, I want to give lavishly, I want love to flow from my heart, to ripen and bear fruit. There are many horizons that must be visited, fruit that must be plucked, books read, and white pages in the scrolls of life to be inscribed with vivid sentences in a bold hand."
-Tayeb Salih (A passage from the book "A Season of Migration to the North")

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to pet a red panda (or firefox) in the Himalayas in Sikkim (India). Red panda's have been my favorite animals for a long time--it was a dream come true!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you all about the design process: how do you figure out if an idea is worth pursuing? Once you have something you want to create something (especially a tech something) how do you know what to build and in what order? I've devoted a ton of time to figuring this stuff out, and my professional success has depended on me being good at it. I think it's a great way to look at the world. I love hearing about new projects of all kinds and helping friend to figure out the best things they can do, right now, to make the project more successful, faster, with less time/money invested.
I can point out a thing or two about architecture, mostly modern.
I can help you become a better swimmer.
I'm learning Spanish. I need all the help I can get!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Wine, conversation, hiking and random adventure companion, and general friendliness.
Also: cooking and cleaning duties. I hope I get--which some CSers don't always--that this isn't about free housing. It's about making connections with extraordinary people you'd never meet any other way.
