ABOUT ME

I'm an adaptable bloke who only really just wants to be surrounded be great people. I've experienced different ends of the spectrum and am uniquely aware that nothing is unique. At this point, everything is just funny. Lets have a laugh together.

PHILOSOPHY

I am whatever I'm doing at any point in time. In other words, whoever the people are in my immediate vicinity, and whatever activites are currently at my disposal, I'll focus the majority of my energy and attention on these people and places. Other than that, staying positive is my moto. If you're always positive, even when life seems to have turned to shit, great things will inevitably happen. Life for me is about making connections. Connections with new friends and renewed connections with old friends. There is nothing that makes me happiler in life than getting a bunch of excitable legends together.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Back in Australia we unofficially hosted people on our couch in Bondi just about every week. When I was travelling, CouchSurfing was the perfect tool for meeting cool people and crashing on couches everwhere from Buenos Aires, to Lima, to Calfironia. I may no longer be Living the Dream, but now that I'm the one with a confortable couch to offer I'm keen to return the favor.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Even if people can't meet up or offer their couch, everyone has at least offered helpful local advice. A gret deal of legends on here.Regarding my LACK OF REFERENCES on my page, the reason is that for the most part of my trip I was travelling with a friend, so we just used his profile. Big sports fan, and just being outdoors in general. I've played rugby union all my life, and am missing it a bit due to travelling. I spent at least a good four months of my trip paddling around in the surf, and while paddling around is still great fun, I suck. Growing up eight hours from the ocean hasn't helped! My other main interest is music, and partying, and partying in the vicinity of good music. But who doesn't?! I've been carrying a DSLR camera around with me and am loving photography/film editing. It's easy when you have interesting stuff to film everywhere!

Can't stress my love for all three of these things enough. I've spent so many hours watching films, it's kind of ridiculous. If you're a film buff, we'll have much to discuss. Travelling was just great for cranking through books. Books that I've recently been stoked on include Lonesome Dove, The Book Thief, Omerta, Lord of the Rings, anything by Wilbur Smith, and The Great Gadsby, for some reason... All genres of music. I'm biased in that I particularly love Aussie music... Dire Straits, Cut-copy, The Presets, etc. Favourite band, Mars Volta.

South America was a plethoria of awesome expereince, including Machu Pitchu, Worlds Most Dangerous Road and hanging out at Nachos Surf Camp in Lebitos. One thing we did though, which was slightly more unique, was working for three weeks at a taditional organic winery in the small town of Cafayate in Northern Argentina. Stomping grapes while sipping beers all day, pretty sweet.

The reason I like working in advertising is because you get to spend your days engaging with creative people. While I studied economics and finance and don't mind that type of caper, being involved with creativity is simply more enjoyable. Writing, photography, editing weird little films. All great fun.
