About Me

Originally from NJ, I spent 5 years in NC and have always had a connection to the beach/water. In the first year in FL, I've purchased and been renovating a house where Kylee and I now live. Still a work in progress, we've gotten to the point where we have a guest room and a second bath to share with folks. With my 2 legged daughter grown and on her own, my 4 legged daughter and I love company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been fortunate enough to have seen other parts of the world and I want to share the home I have with others so that they can do so too. I am in love with my new home town and am glad to share this place with anyone who would enjoy it.

Interests

Other than home improvement, I love following politics in the US and other nations, music, gardening, food, yoga, kayaking, biking, volleyball, etc., etc. Kylee and I love the dog beach, too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classic Rock, current pop music, Shawshank Redemption and To Kill A Mockingbird....there, got that out of the way. Actually, I do love to read, far more than I like to write essays like this. I read a lot of non-fiction adventures from climbing Everest to Kon-Tiki as well as economic/political and scientific literature. Yeah, I work selling solar, but that's just to keep us in puppy chow!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing is my daughter (doesn't every mom say that)! I can't think of just one thing. I'd have to say that the most memorable things are the travel experiences...riding horses to the Arctic sea in Iceland, kayaking Hell's Canyon, the 4 day trek to Machu Picchu, just getting lost driving in the mountains in Panama and finally finding the hotel, ziplining ,rappelling and horseback riding over then mountains in Costa Rica, caving and windsurfing in Belize.

Teach, Learn, Share

On all of these trips, we found the most amazing folks to share them with. Almost by definition, if you are the type of person who goes on these trips, you are fun to be with, swap stories and laugh with!

What I Can Share with Hosts

While I've only lived here a few years, I'm happy to help you find things to do and how best to get there. I have a private bedroom with a second bathroom for you, full kitchen to share and an extra parking space in the driveway if you come with a vehicle. Wifi is available, too. Kylee, my 11 lb. roommate will be happy to keep you company and even take a nap with you once she gets over being shy.

Countries I’ve Visited

Barbados, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Curaçao, France, Germany, Guatemala, Iceland, Panama, Peru
