ABOUT ME

Right now (March 10, 2008) I'm a 21 year old student who's spending a semester abroad in Prague. It's great here, the people are friendly and the beer is cheaper than water. Back home I'm an anthropology major at a small school in upstate New York and I hope to one day become a journalist. This summer will be my first time writing for a professional publication. I'm a little bit nervous about what the future holds for me, but I thrive on the tension that comes from putting myself in unfamiliar situations. The idea that there is always something new out there to be learned and that the clock is ticking is a constant inspiration to me and serves as the proverbial fire to my proverbial ass. Here comes the list: I like backpacking, reading, beer, playing and listening to music, football (both kinds), my favorite color is blue.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't say I'm doing much right now unfortunately. I'd love to eventually but there's barely enough space in my room for my roommate and I. I'd be happy to book you a room here though if you want as our dorm doubles as a hostel. Anyone who would like to meet up for a drink or an unsanctioned tour of the city is welcome to drop me a line as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like everything but the Cranberries. I did at one point, but but my roommate has ruined them for me by playing "Zombie" and "Linger" more times than I care to re-live. I like almost everything else though or will at least give it the old college try. My favorites though would have to be, Movie: Rushmore, Music: The Clash/Beatles/Bob Marley, Book: The Idiot by Dostoyevsky. I hope that helps. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I know how to frame houses. Additionally, I have been playing guitar for about six years and have recently begun to teach myself the ukulele.
