Hello everyone!

As you can see it has definitely been a minute since I have had the opportunity to use CouchSurfing. I was in living situations where I couldn't host and unfortunately, school limited my ability to travel - until now! I am travelling to Iceland and Prague to talk at scientific conferences and get to do some travelling and working remotely from mid-July to late September. I am very exited to hopefully meet up with people from this lovely community who can show me a piece of where they live.

A little about me:

I grew up on a small island (population 800 people) off the West Coast of Canada and I am incredibly in awe of and in love with the natural world that we are all part of. I love to do anything that gets me outside, primarily hiking, backpacking, running, skiing, and camping. One of my favourite things to do is to cook for people - so let's crack a bottle of wine (or any beverage of choice) , chat, cook, and then eat (hopefully) delicious food.

I have a BSc in biochemistry, a MSc in conservation genomics, and am currently doing my PhD, focusing on environmental change in marine ecosystems. I have deeply curious about the world we live in and love to be taught new things, which is part of why I think Couchsurfing is so wonderful!

I have met some wonderful people through this community and made memories that I will always hold dear. It is incredibly special to see a place through the eyes of someone who lives in a place and have them share it with you.
