ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded urban guy. Love to see new places, and especially meet new people.
Born and raised in Rio, I've always lived in Copacabana (in two apartments my family lived in over the years and now that I live alone). I try to compensate my lack of living in other places by meeting new people all the time I can and travelling.

I'm very passionate about life in general, but definitely teaching and music are my driving forces. I love my jobs, and love to listen to and play music (mostly "natural" music, not so much electronic).

Being a teacher and musician, I know A LOT of people, and have many many friends.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in honesty and sinergy. When people get together with the same energy and ideals, they can boost each other and do amazing things, longlasting memories and creations.
Life must be enjoyed in all its shades. Lonely moments can be marvelous just as much as being with other people. Happiness is great but sadness is the best teacher in life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can receive people and show Rio de Janeiro around, from the perspective of someone who lives in the alternative scenario of the city. Great art, great nature, charming places, parties and people, and many times not so expensive! =D

My couch is occupied by my friends a lot, so... you can give it a try. But at least I'll be around for a talk/beer/walk.

Interests

Biology, music (I play drums/percussion in some blocos and bands, and sing in a vocal group), traveling, wines/beers/cheeses, nerd stuff in general (Roleplaying Games, LotR, Star Wars...), hiking and nature sightseeing. Books and art too (I think everyone in my family performs some kind of art, from drawing pictures to dancing... I'm the music man).

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach Biology for a living, so I could definitely help in this department. Besides that, I can teach how to play percussion instruments, or get people in touch with Brazilian percussion schools (bloco schools).
I've been told more than once that I'm very good at introducing people to each other (I can feel/tell wich people will get together well) and introducing new music artists to someone. But I don't know if that would count as "teaching".
