About Me

I'm a 24 year old kid who still lives in his dad's basement. I'm very frugal and saving my money has always been one of my strong suits. I've saved more than enough to be able to do a bit of traveling within the States, to get out and see the world while I still have the chance.

One of my favorite things is making others laugh, but it helps if their sense of humor is as goofy as mine. A good game of Ultimate Frisbee will always pick up my spirits and invigorate my body. I tend to look for the logic in ideas an problems first, which often gets me in trouble with my parents and superiors. I love a good conversation (shocker, who doesn't) but I'm a better listener than speaker, I enjoy hearing where others have been.

My plane landed in Kahului on November 28th, and I've been Surfing around the island ever since.
I really just need a place to crash and eat while on Maui, I have the cash for everything but a $200/night hotel, that's just absurd. If you have the space, and are willing donate your time and effort to helping a stranger stay on the Islands, I'd be humbled and teeming with gratitude. "Nothing in life is for free" is especially true in Hawaii. I'll work for you and do my best to repay you in almost any way they you see fit.

One thing about myself that I'm working on is the fact that I often won't do something just right the first time I do it. I'll end up making a few mistakes before I figure out exactly what I'm doing, so I apologise if I ask to many questions. It's usually never a major wrongdoing but some piece that I'll have to take the time to go back and fix later, but I will fix it. This is something I've come to realize about myself and I'm working on being a better listener.

My biggest regret in life is buying a selfie stick, and the knowledge that I'll probably be using it extensively in the coming weeks. It will be a great shame upon my family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to take a vacation to Hawaii, see the sights and go snorkeling. I'm more into bumming around and enjoying nature for sake of nature. Much more than spending thousands on extravagant travel packages, expensive spas, and helicopter rides. Sure that all sounds like a blast, and I hope that one day I'll have the cash flow to spend so frivolously. But at the moment I'm simply looking to find my piece of the islander life.

Interests

I love learning, and I love the academic discipline of Logic. (Though I admit I'm not as knowledgeable in the subject as I want to be, I need to put in more work there.)

The best way to describe my personality is that of the "socially adventurous introvert." I can thoroughly enjoy meeting new people when I'm in the right mindset, and frequently make that effort, but I find that I like my alone time a little more than I do another's company. I'm usually very outgoing, but my comfort zone is more reclusive.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I bought a tarantula? Otherwise... **Check Back Soon**

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a firm believer in the old adage "Actions speak louder than words." This phrase pops into my head daily. It motivates and reminds me that though I can attempt to plan and prepare for every situation, and try to control the outcome by thinking a lot about it, what really matters in this world is results. Physical results, things getting done, not just thought about. Stepping boots on the ground, taking a deep breath, and moving into action.

What I Can Share with Hosts

General house cleaning, lawn and garden care, home organization, simple cooking, a listening ear.

I'm willing to discuss any type of work that you want to throw at me. I can be a generally handyman, I can play around with piping in your house, I can replace the break pads on your car, change out the serpentine belt under the hood, etc. I'm a resourceful problem solver, I can use YouTube and the know-how men at Home Depot to figure out how to fix just about anything, given the proper motivation. I'm an excellent team member and coworker, let's brainstorm and take on a project together!
