About Me

Hi Everyone

I'm a solo gay traveler working online and exploring the world. I like to take my time in each country and get to know the culture more in-depth. If my life were a book, it would be full of so many different characters, protagonists and antagonists aplenty with each new chapter.
I love to hear the stories of others. Their opinions and beliefs intrigue me.
I've come to realize that I can find some common ground with everyone I meet and relate to each other this way.

I particularly enjoy meeting people who make me question my thoughts and opinions and I am happy to engage with people who differ in opinion to me as long as it remains respectful.

I love excersize and being active. Calisthenics, Squash (raquetball) and just recently started jumprope.
My favourite things are to wander the streets of a new city and get lost or to hike to the highest point to get a birds-eye view of an area.

I am a commercial diver which is basically a construction worker but underwater. I have dived commercially more times than I can count however my recreational dives are less than 40. I studied accoujnting and worked in insolvency for the first half of my 20's.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been a Couchsurfing member for a few years however, I never had the opportunity to actually try.
I was hoping to make new friends and create new memories in a way that's different from organized tours or hostels.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find there is always a perfect time for the right music. Some moments call for light jazz, some moments call for UK Grime while others call for pop. I find pop to be more enjoyable with others because usually people know the songs and they are easy to sing along with together.

Recommend me a good self-help book and I'm usually all over it..... In audiobook form of course.

I find myself re-watching movies over and over. And struggle to watch a new movie or start a new series when I'm alone. However, I find myself more adventurous with movies when I am with others. Love a good horror, comedy or animation. Recommend me a good anime and I will binge watch.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While working as a commercial diver on Salmon farm in Stewart Island, New Zealand (at the very south of the country, near Antarctica). I was repairing the nets that extend 30 meters deep and as I lay on the bottom of the net I see a dark shadow ascending towards me from the deep. As the dark mass gets bigger and bigger, I begin to see a nose, two eyes and eventually a thousand sharp white teeth. I quickly swan as high as I could and as fast as I safely could to watch a Great White Sharks mouth hit the net where I recently laid. His huge figure push the net up towards me and his jaw clamp shut, ripped and massive hole in the net and swam away.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sounds kinda lame, but I can help with finances and business restructuring haha. Having worked as an insolvency accountant made me a little less scared of numbers and money.

I also dive for a living so can give pointers and share stories about that.
