Overview
About Me
A high-spirited social introvert (INTJ/INFJ) - budding swashbuckler with occasional need for self-recharging in isolation. I have a passion for intellectual discourse - philosophy, psychology, business, and politics (also food) - and like the doing exciting activities.
"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance." - Alan Watts
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To expand my social network and vicariously learn a cornucopia of life experiences from others. Live like a sponge. Life is undeniably limited so it's truly important to appreciate what life is capable of granting you with. I believe, therefore, that couch-surfing opens a novel opportunity to socializing while traveling, especially for a budding traveler like me. Cultural diversity, language immersion, people personalities are what I'm after.
Interests
I love learning, particular the process in learning. So I can easily be engaged in almost all sorts of activity, be it physical activities (swimming, badminton, weightlifting, but not basketball) or cognitive activities (reading books, debating & analyzing interesting topics) or leisure activities (casual conversations, lounging).

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite music: Instrumental New Age (e.g. 7and5, Bandari), Classical music (e.g. Beethoven, De Bussy, Schubert, Vivaldi, Mozart), and Cinematic music (e.g. E.S. Posthumus, X-Ray Dog, Really Slow Motion). But I also like other different genres ranging from Broadway Musical (e.g. Les Miserables) & Golden Oldies (e.g. Frank Sinatra), to Symphonic Metal (e.g. Within Temptation, Nightwish). Mood-based selection.
Favorite movies: The Shawshank Redemption, The Dark Knight, The Lord of The Rings, The Hobbit, The Matrix, and Animations by Miyazaki (e.g. Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke).
Favorite books: Any books that discusses philosophy (e.g. Stoicism, Taoism, Zen Buddhism), psychology, sociology, business, history, and politics!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There's just too many amazing things that happened in life, not a single one is comparable to the other. Each is a wonderful experience in its own right.
- Survived a New Year stampede in Shanghai, China in 2015 and temporarily lived as homeless on the same day despite almost freezing temperatures. (Proof: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-stampede-idUSKBN0K916W20150101)
- Cliff-dived (~20-25 feet) at Tawil Point in Tingloy Island, Philippines.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love exploring knowledge from a generalist standpoint, so I could share what I know but take them with a grain of salt. Skepticism is strongly encouraged. We could talk about life and places in general, but we could transcend the level of discussion by revolving topics regarding human psychology, social sciences, and philosophy.
Not well-versed with skills from the culinary, music, nor crafting arts. You can teach me!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A contagious smile and up-beat attitude could take me so far in building rapport and trust. I love sharing my personal experiences and engaging in cultural- and knowledge-exchange!
