About Me

I'm mostly at work with the Navy or down at the beach.

Im originally from Brisbane, Queensland and have also spent three years living in the Australian Capital, Canberra where I studied business.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to experience and develop an open mind to wider cultures and people of the world. I've not had the opportunity as of yet to complete most of my own worldly adventures outside of this island nation.
For now ,I instead host other travellers at this superb Sydney shore break as a way to explore and exchange cultures from my very own home.

Interests

  • surfing
  • rowing
  • bars
  • scubadiving

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all popular Australian music and listening to Triple J on the radio is a past time.

Favourite Tv series right now include Rick and Morty, Breaking Bad and Stranger Things, Black Mirror, and Taboo.

Favourite movie would be Gladiator, "Are you not entertained?" and anything directed by Christopher Nolan.

Favoirite book: Slaughterhouse 5, it's not as gruesome as it sounds.

"Books can be like great secrets that are sometimes discovered and shared with other friends". I am always happy to give recommendations and to receive recommendations on good books to read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the greatest adventures that Ive had to date began on my decision to join the Navy and spending years away from my home city and months out at sea.

Being away from solid ground and things like a mobile connection reminds me to appreciate simpler things in life. I also had the opportunity to travel to some of the lesser know places of the South Pacific islands with my job, and have enjoyed visiting places that I would never of considered visiting on my own vacation travels.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Happy to provide advise from an aussie for those interested.

Learn: worldly tips on travel and culture.

Share: The most aussie cuisine I can think of is putting tomato sauce on a snag in bread. If you know some different form of national cuisine we should try cooking together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A handy location where you can wash clothes, shower, sleep, cook, use wifi, and watch movies.

I usually find that requests for 2-3 nights are the most suitable. Some previous request for longer than 3 nights have come across as looking for free accomodation as opposed to sharing the experiences of CS. For stays of only one night I may be inclined to say no as there can be alot of time wasted cleaning the apartment and bedding prior.

I enjoy beers and the beach. I'm often keen on joining travellers on sightseeing trips if they would like some company, or trying some surfing down at bondi

My friends at work call me Solo, and if you say that name in the request then Ill know you've taken the time to read my profile. Cheers
