About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To stir my own experience with the world. To laugh deeply with people. To love pragmatically, spiritually, deeply, constantly. Also I am looking to find good chess matches, excellent food recipes, and skip rocks in novel places. I wrote this when I first joined many years ago, and it is basically hasn't changed.

ABOUT ME

Well, any attempt at description ends up in abbreviation. So here goes. I am an adventuresome sort of person, both experientially and intellectually. I am often forced to climb a good tree when I see one and very often forced to read up on a wide range of topics. I pride myself on being able to know a lot of useless facts, but pride myself more on being kind, compassionate, genuine, and a good conversationalist. I am a bit extroverted but more introverted, so situations dictate what I will be when I meet you. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of the United States where the forests are deep and the Mountains tall. I enjoyed a wide range of outdoor activities and very little Television growing up, for which I am now thankful. Also, I hope to one day play a game of Chess with a fully costumed group of people.

PHILOSOPHY

I would like to have the chance to laugh deeply with many people, receive and give wisdom, and learn to appreciate the still moments. Also, do no harm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couchsurfed all through Europe and met the most wonderful people every time. I now turn my attention to hosting and saving money so I can travel again. I think this is a great idea. I'm for it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with many couchsurfers all through Europe. Made connections in Australia. Hosted a few Two and a half months of wonderful experiences with Couchsurfers.

Interests

My greatest interests are Artistic, including poetry, short stories, music, painting ect. I am an avid hiker and love the forested mountains. I snowboard as often as I can (which is easy now that I live and work at a ski resort in Colorado). I am very interested in the religions of the world and spiritual expressions of all kind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Green Mountain Trail in the North Cascade Mountains in Washington State is one of the most magnificent hikes I have ever been on. If you get a chance to do it, please do yourself a favor and hike it.

Teach, Learn, Share

When you pick a paw pom, or a prickly pear, and you prick a raw paw, then next time beware. Don't pick the prickly part with the paw when you pick a pear try to use the claw---Baloo the Bear.

Only you can prevent forest fires---Smokey the Bear
