CURRENT MISSION

Traveling and exploring different cultures is my favorite thing in life. I'm also passionate about maintaining my fluency in Portuguese and trying to improve my Spanish.

ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded, motivated, friendly, and optimistic guy born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. I love to have fun, meet new people, and have deep conversations over drinks or coffee. My biggest passion and curiosity in life is language learning and my dream is to reach fluency in one or more foreign languages starting with Brazilian Portuguese.

I love playing volleyball, watching soccer/football/futebol, going to the beach, walking around the city, riding bikes, and traveling. I also like going camping and hiking, gardening, cooking/eating good food, and staying in shape lifting weights or doing yoga.

I can get along with almost anyone and love meeting new people. I´m also gay, and particularly interested in meeting and helping LGBT hosts and travelers since I know it can sometimes be difficult to be gay in a different culture.

Life is all about learning and growing from the experiences we are given.

My goal for my life is to share as much knowledge and love as possible while I'm here, leave the world a slightly better place because of my actions, and to have no regrets about the things I didn't have the courage to do while I was alive.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hoping to use CS to explore several cities in Brazil this spring/summer leading up to the World Cup. So far, living with Brazilians has been an amazing opportunity to practice Portuguese and meet some fantastic new friends.

I'm also very open to the idea of hosting when I'm back in Nebraska and/or meeting up with CS'ers to show them around my home city of Lincoln.

Most amazing memory: Swimming in the Pacific Ocean in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica under a full moon at midnight. Probably the moment when I truly fell in love with traveling.
