I'm a 30 year-old backpacker from Canada who left home over two-and-a-half years ago to travel the world, and I've been enjoying every moment since!

I've spent most of my time in Australia and New Zealand. I lived in Melbourne for six months and also travelled up the east coast and around Tasmania and a bit of South Australia. I then spent 14 weeks backpacking around Southeast Asia, which was a life-changing experience. Then I moved to Auckland for a year and a half, where I worked in marketing and travelled around the country every chance I got.

Now I'm on the move again, slowly making my way back to my home city of Toronto through Fiji, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.

Apart from travelling, I also love reading (especially non-fiction books about psychology and culture), hiking, and playing the piano - although that last one has been difficult while on the road. I really enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new ways of living.

Oh and I'm into dudes, in case that matters.

I've learned through my travels that my ideal travel style involves meeting the local people wherever I'm staying and experiencing their way of living - even if only briefly. Otherwise I find it difficult to get a true feeling for a place. I've heard good things about couch surfing and I feel that it will be a good way to meet locals, and fellow travellers too!
