About Me

American living in Dundee. Scotland for 11 years, New Jersey for 13. Currently working for one of the largest publishers in the UK on the newly launched Beano.com whilst putting the finishing touches on our first feature film.

I love filmmaking, movies, games, TV, music, vinyl, hiking, linguistics, art/design, and the occasional independent brew.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Budding filmmaker taking our first feature on tour while travelling the world. Like our super-indie film, Shooting Clerks, I'm trying to travel on a similarly super-indie budget!

Interests

Graduated from Game Design from one of Europe's best universities for the subject. Currently working for the Beano, which is a childrens comic that's been running for nearly 80 years.

Love trying new things, going places; museums and gigs and outdoor walks are totally my thing. Always listening to music. Still dressing like it's the 90's.

Music, Movies, and Books

To name a few:
Back to the Future, Clerks, Obvious Child, Guardians of the Galaxy,

Currently on a music trip of Vaporwave, Future Funk, and classic 60's organ music / bossa nova. I used to get annoyed by people who said that they'd listen to anything, but then that's exactly who I became.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We won the 2016 Indie Spirit award with our movie, Shooting Clerks. That was pretty cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

Films, Games, Media, Design - I'm barely qualified to talk about any of these, but will happily blether for hours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I moved to Scotland when I was 13 so I'd like to think I'm an entry-level 3rd culture kid to both places. Jersey born and raised, but matured in a Highland field where civilisation ends. I'm fluent in Scots dialects despite the North Jersey twang.

Great at travelling light and networking, happy to share UK based contacts. Always available to chat films and music. Happy to recommend you a movie that you'll probably have never seen before, provided you do the same to me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, England, France, Scotland, United States
