I can host up to 4 Ukrainians at my home in Las Vegas, Nevada. I will provide what accomodations and support I can.

Hi, I'm Brett and you are going to love Vegas...

It's a great place to visit and it's even better if you do it local style. I mean, "The Strip" is cool and you have to see it...But it's far from being the best fun place to hangout and see. There are so many other things to see and experience that will put "The Strip" to shame.

You like hiking, world class climbing, dive bars and cool pubs with a hundred different craft beers? Hole-in-the-wall local restaurants that only locals know about? How about a 20 foot tall Mantis that shoots fire out of it's tentacles? Or a place that has more old school pinball machines than you can ever imagine? I even know a nightclub away from The Strip that the locals go to party, listen to great live music, hang out and play really fun games.

Or...If you just need a place to lay low and recuperate for a day or two, I have a great home for that too.

So, Me...
I'm an adventurous outdoorsy type guy. I enjoy being outdoors more then anything. Mountains, deserts, jungles, or ocean. If I'm playing outside, I'm happy. I am an avid snowboarder, motorcycle rider, downhill mountain biker, hiker, snowshoer, photographer, fly fisherman and poker player.

I have traveled throughout my life and I have always enjoyed trekking far more then staying in hotels and visiting the tourist attractions. While traveling, I love meeting locals and touching the culture of the places I visit. For me connecting is what traveling is about. The sight seeing is secondary.

So, if any of you would like to hang out with a pretty cool host, make the request...Come on, what are you waiting for???...hit the button. I have to tell ya though, I get several requests per week, but it never hurts to ask. The worst that can happen is I say I can't.

Safe Travels
Brett

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling...I want to play in the whole of the world and take in, through all my senses, the beauty it possesses. I feel much of that beauty is in the culture of the people.

Hosting...I enjoy sharing my home and time with people of different histories, ideals and points of view distant of those of a west coast American's concept. Share in conversation, food and drink. Share stories of adventures experienced and those soon to be. Maybe even be a fun part of someone else's stories of a past adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music...
Blues, Blues, Blues, is my favorite, but I listen to everything from Charlie Daniels to Groove Armada to Buckwheat Zydeco to Gershwin to Slave. With music I have few boundaries.

Oh Wow...The movie part will be a fun list for you to read.
I just watched a Buster Keaton silent movie and laughed until my jaw and ribs hurt.
My favorite romantic movie is A Good Year. (I love wine, I love romance)
My favorite guy's movie is Oceans Eleven. (The 2001 version)
My favorite Syfy movie is Gardian's of the Galaxy. (but this changes from time to time)
My favorite chick flick is Devil Wears Prada. (My daughter really likes to tease me about this)

Books...
Just finished The Things They Carry by Tim O'Brian. He is a great American writer.

Currently reading for the second time, The People's History of the United States by Zen. This should be required reading for every American before they are allow to graduate high school or at least Vote.

Also reading Five Centuries of English Verse, Impressions by Whilliam Stebbing.

I am huge fan of John Steinbeck and loved Lord of the Rings by Tolkien when I was growing up. Stories of Greek Mythology intrigued me when I was in my teens, so of course the Tales of Ulysses and Homer's The Odyssey. As I grew older, I enjoyed stories from Hemingway, Poe, Dickens and others.
