About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Visiting the top 100 wonders of the world, as listed at HillmanWonders.com. 96 completed with more planned soon!

ABOUT ME

Indefatigable!

PHILOSOPHY

I kept telling myself that I had to see the world now because it would be difficult later in life, but with each year that passed it got easier. I do have less time now though, with children and responsibilities. In every place I've ever been, it's been the people around me, rather than the location, that have made the experiences enjoyable and memorable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been hosting and surfing occasionally for over a decade now, and I've met up with people numerous times through Couchsurfing.

One highlight was attending the Argentina national meeting/camping trip in Tigre in 2008. I would strongly encourage anyone who has the opportunity to hang out with dozens of couchsurfers at once to take it!

Interests

Every sport imaginable, reading, flying small aircraft and, of course, traveling and meeting people with backgrounds much different than mine

Music, Movies, and Books

Dinosaur Jr., Full Metal Jacket and Atlas Shrugged

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking the Inca Trail, spending the night with Bedouins in Wadi Rum, staying awake for 50 hours debating religion and politics in Jerusalem, living in Buenos Aires, summitting Kilimanjaro, becoming a Shellback, hitchhiking from Norway to Dubrovnik and back up to Helsinki, feeding an elephant in Meenakshi Temple, loving and being loved

Teach, Learn, Share

I have done a ton of traveling since joining CS and have still only surfed a few times because I travel fast and don't know where I'll be staying a lot of times. Each experience I've had has been incredible and I've learned and taught quite a bit! Couchsurfers have more interesting experiences to share than most people!
