ABOUT ME

We're down-to-earth, young professionals traveling for 14 months. Before this we lived in Southern California for 10 years, first in college (where we met) and then in graduate school and working. Brett grew up in the Pacific Northwest and Bowen in the Midwest. We both love good food, good drink, good conversation, and love meeting new people. We've traveled in Central America, Europe, Canada, and a variety of other places around the US and the world. Now we've quit our jobs and are traveling for just over a year, while Brett applies to graduate school programs. We're looking forward to meeting new people and having a great adventure.

Beatles, Decemberists, hip hop (new and old school), classical, folk ... actually this is too difficult. We like a lot of things, and learning about new ones!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Brett traveled in Central America in 2005 and had an amazing experience, seeing amazing things and learning a lot about himself and the world. We have had some great experiences together including a day biking from heuriger to heuriger in the Wachau wine district, visiting Versailles with our friend the French Enlightenment historian, and traipsing around Tikal. Summer 2012 we drove west-to-east across Canada and back across the US, and that was an amazing trip.

Teach, Learn, Share

We're happy to share our knowledge about the following things: cooking, baking, making cocktails, econometrics, Medieval history, environmental policy, and the basics of college football. We could also probably write you a pretty mean policy analysis paper, should you need it. We probably know some other things too.
