Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was one of the best trips I've ever taken. Not only did I get a unique first hand experience of southern hospitality in 'bama, I was able to travel without being a tourist.

Since then I've traveled and hosted all kinds, meeting great people along the way.

Interests

A little bit of everything perhaps. A lot of music, writing, nature, people, great food and drink.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love films from everywhere about anything, really!.

Jerzy Kosinski, Leonard Cohen, Ian McEwan, George Orwell, Simone de Beauvoir, and most recently Hesse.. but I'm always open to suggestions.

I love the music of Tom Waits, Timber Timbre, Father John Misty, Fleet Foxes, Bob Dylan, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Petunia, Patrick Watson, Goran Bregovic and many others, including the independent musicians of this world who dedicate themselves to the profession of pleasing the ears and soothing the soul for little or no monetary compensation. I'm still tapping my foot to Raffi after all these years and have also been known to strum a few chords and sing a tune every now and then myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing that stands out was being at the top of Colca Canyon and watching the condors soar through the sky. It defined freedom for me

Walking home from an adventure as the sun rises on a cool Montreal morning with our humble mountain in the background should also be given some credit too!

Best of all and most recently, L'arche Double in La Chartreuse... Best place I've been to in my life, only because I dreamed about it for so long and found it ALMOST on my own..
