ABOUT ME
I enjoy candlelit dinners, moonlit walks on the beach, and fuzzy baby kitties. Wait...this isn't match.com? Sorry, wrong profile.
I worked for an airline for more than seven years, both for the travel benefits and because I get really geeky about aviation. I used to play sax in a rhythm and blues band, but we are presently on indefinite hiatus. I play guitar in a group that I refer to as "my other band," but it's really just an occasional jam session. And I really do like fuzzy baby kitties.
When I travel I like to find a small little pub or cafe that most visitors never see or just get gently lost in a neighborhood. I enjoy seeing the sights and the touristy things too, but it is rarely the best part of a trip.
PHILOSOPHY
I took a philosophy course in college. Didn't really understand it. Still working on the Allegory of the Cave.
Truthfully I don't know if I have much of a philosophy, but I'll take a stab at it. Always be yourself. Love with your entire being. Play your music loud, but not so loud that it wakes the neighbors. And, in the immortal words of Bill and Ted, be excellent to each other.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to the whole CouchSurfing thing, so most of my participation focuses on trying to figure out exactly how I'm going to participate.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Seven years of airline travel, yet for some reason it took losing my job to get involved with CouchSurfing. Strictly local events for me so far, but those have all been well worth my time.
Interests
I enjoy candlelit dinners, moonlit...wait a minute. Haven't I already been over this? Still not match.com? Dammit!
I like music and used to play in a band, I like cycling but no longer compete, and I like acting but rarely have the time to commit to a play.
Also beer. I really like beer. I brew my own and quite enjoy traveling around to sample local brews. If time and money allowed I'd open a brewpub, but presently time and money do not allow so I'm just an enthusiast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once climbed to the top of a mountain in Korea, searching for a temple that was proving elusive. I met a group of old Korean men along the way. Together we walked to a small hermitage and conversed in languages that the other didn't speak, but we understood anyway. I believe my day was made better for never having found the temple I was originally looking for.
I eventually found the temple a week later, 300m in the other direction from where I started walking. There was a big sign. I'm not really sure how I missed it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you more than you ever wanted to know about local architecture. I can talk your ear off about beer. And I know most of the better happy hours in town.
