About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience life, make memories, and enjoy the small and grand things.

ABOUT ME

My father traveled for work, so as kid, I got used to moving around. Due to that, I have lived in various cities/states in the United States. I think that also sparked my interest in learning from people--their cultures, their opinion, their experiences, etc...

I have a decent background in volunteer work, ranging from working with a rape/crisis center to Peace Corps (Mongolia).

I am a kind and compassionate person; interested in people and their experiences.

Lastly, be warned, I am known among my friends as a woman of many questions...due to the number I may ask...lol.

PHILOSOPHY

I am alive to live. Due to that, I will not choose NOT to do something or go somewhere based solely on the fear of danger or death.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed and am considering attempting to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only surfed once, so I am a bit of a noob at this. No good stories yet, but a positive experience...:)

Interests

I love gardening, dancing (contra and line), day trips to museums and local sites, and socializing with my friends (Deaf and hearing). My lessor known interests include video games (ssshhh) and attending renaissance festivals. Oh, did I mention I enjoy traveling?

Music, Movies, and Books

I tend to read historical novels, the Outlander series being an example.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ziplining through clouds in a Costa Rican rainforest; flying in a biplane as it tumbled and rolled in acrobatic maneuvers; immersing myself in a complete cultural experience, such as Naadam in Mongolia or Semana Santa in Guatemala.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am skilled and have taught American Sign Language. Additionally, I am able to teach listening skills (especially to couples, siblings, etc).

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Morocco, Nicaragua, Peru, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mongolia, United States
