About Me

Ok guys one thing to note about me is that I do not check couchsurfing every day, and I apparently often miss requests entirely. If you're coming short notice and really need a spot you need to send me an email. brian.ahlers@gmail.com

I'm from the land of always winter (e.g. South Dakota) I moved to New Mexico to find warmth and good climbing. Turns out I nailed it. I'm your classic whiteboy from the midwest. I'm game for talking about anything from politics to pop culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I moved to a place where I knew nobody.. I like peeps. Come hang with me and my roommate (Matty G) and let's share our stories and experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Haven't been to jail or died yet so I feel like I'm doing pretty damn well. But seriously all I've really done is climb up some tall-ish rock faces using only my hands and feet and the gear we put in. Other than that, I've finished Infinite Jest which was sweet. I like to build things but I'm too lazy to get motivated without a friend or my dad so there's that.

Teach, Learn, Share

To be honest I'm a pretty smart dude (prolly have ADD) but I love the guitar, climbing, history, philosophy, other people and life itself. I can't tell you what we'll teach or learn from each other but that's the big reason why I'm on here in the first place.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good times, SUPER good local IPA beers, insights on life, and duh....a choice between 3 really comfy couches with the option of a dank big blue comforter. We have no pets but they are welcome. I'm very tolerant, and all humans are my friends. Gay, straight, foreign, I don't care, all peeps are my peeps. I also like doing yoga and am very interested in learning new practices from different people.

If you surf here you will have the lay of the land in my expansive 12ft x 12ft ish living room. The kitchen is open to use so you can cook up food if you need or we can go out together. I have some kitchen supplies, a wok, a pan, enough to make most decent meals. I love to cook so we'll be able to get down on that together.
