About Me

Hey there!

My name is Brian Blend and I currently live in Washington D.C. where I work and play (mostly play). I have been living in downtown DC for approximately 2 years now but have lived in the area for a combined 5 years.

I am originally from Richmond Virginia but it says "Mechanicsville" which is a suburb of Richmond. I am not sure how to change this because I think that Richmond is easier for people to recognize, but what re ya gonna do?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I should've joined Couchsurfing a long time ago as I love to travel and already have an airbnb account, and this is free so why I didn't join earlier I don't know.

Anyway, I decided it was time to exhaust all resources because my girlfriend Erin and I are about to travel the world for a year so we need all the connections we can get!

I am always anxious to meet new people wherever I go and friends have told me only good things about Couchsurfing. If I had a proper house or multiple bedroom apartment I would definitely offer up my place for people to stay but unfortunately, due to the extraordinary rent in DC, I live in a box. But know, that if I ever have a place that is large enough, offering up my pad will be the first thing that I do!

Side note, I also have an airbnb account with reviews of past stays abroad. I have copied and pasted these in my photos section because I don't think I can provide a link.

Please let me know if you have any questions for me as you look through my bio.

Interests

Massive political science nerd. I can name the capital of every state and most countries (I can even probably tell you the head of state and governing party). Risk and Monopoly are my favorite board games if that tells you anything.

I can play guitar (badly) and if I had unlimited free time I would probably pursue it more seriously. The rest is pretty self explanatory. I love being active and spending time outdoors whenever I can, but at the same time I'm always down for some drunken pizza at 3 in the morning.
