One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went swimming in the Pacific ocean - literally - 1,000 miles from dry land! I was in the Navy and we do a "swim call", from time to time, where we slow the ship down and swim. We stopped on the way back from sea trials in Hawaii. As I was the radar operator, I could see we were more more than 1,200 miles from land.
