Overview
About Me
i live and work on a non-profit educational farm in southern oregon. most of the time i'm here running kids' programs or just enjoying being home. but i am adventurous when i get the spark. i like meeting new people and expanding my networks of friends and interests. i'm kind, can be quiet or talkative, and have a decent amount of experience with traveling and community living.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
to meet new people and explore new places...to have more inspiration to get out and about...there's quite a few classes/events I would like to travel to, and having a fun place to stay is even more reason for me to actually do that...
i may be able to host in some circumstances, but we might have to meet first...i live on a farm with a few other folks, and my house is really just big enough for me...we have a common space that can host guests...but its often full of friends or family or visiting kids for our education programs. . .

Music, Movies, and Books
i always like to add "right now" to the end of this question. what's your favorite music to listen to "right now"?
music: mos def/yasiin bey, john brown's body, nina simone, bonobo, chico buarque
movies: the sound of noise, the accountant, salam neighbor, nine to five
books: calling the circle, nathaniel hawthorne's children's stories, david byrne's bicycle diaries, all the rain promises and more
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
lived for a bit in brasil with people in the landless peasant movement
Teach, Learn, Share
i can share clawhammer/old time banjo, cooking, gardening, kids' stories and games, movie recommendations, card games.
i'm interested in learning more about mushrooms. i actually joined couchsurfing to find places to crash around eugene, because i'm interested in hikes and events that the cascade mycological society puts on around there.
i like sharing stories and talking about travel, social work, activism, non-profit work, education, children's ed, and lots more.
What I Can Share with Hosts
i may be able to offer a place to stay, but due to the nature of our community we might have to meet you somehow first. we have space to host folks that is nice, but we generally do not accept visitors unless we've already established a connection. (we're a working farm and education center, so there are often lots of things going on; its a mission-driven place (non-profit with a mission, not a faith-based mission), dedicated to teaching the arts of sustainable living... we are very committed to it and generally know people who are visiting...)
