Overview
About Me
I moved to Denver in the Fall of 2018, and have space to host for the first time. Before coming to Denver I had quit my job in Boston (I'm from MA), and did a good amount of traveling, international and domestic, over about a two year period. Now back to work at an engineering services company.
I'm excited about all the new places out here in Colorado for me to check out. I've been out to Colorado and nearby states a few times for hiking/snowboarding/generally outdoors related stuff, but it all feels pretty new to me. Having all the new places nearby will help to transition back to having the vacation limitations that come with having a job again.
Taking the time off to travel gave me the chance to go a little bit slower and get a little beyond the point of just scratching the surface of some of the places I visited, which was amazing. Now I get to take the same approach with Denver and Colorado.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting up with travelers at home and abroad, and getting to meet locals when traveling, which can add so much depth to the travel experience.
I haven't used couchsurfing to stay with many people while traveling, but I've received plenty of generosity and had great experiences with people from all over while traveling. Currently, I'm able to host for the first time and hopefully can contribute to other travelers having positive experiences.
I'd love to get to a point where I can speak Spanish at a useful level, and as I'm filling this out I see that could be another benefit of this too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of backcountry skiing favorites in the Northeast US is hiking up and skiing/snowboarding Tuckerman Ravine on Mt Washington in New Hampshire. Maybe not "amazing," but I did it on my snowboard twice and it's intimidating at the top and a great experience. Usually a good crowd of other skiers and spectators who've hiked up.
Teach, Learn, Share
If I happen to be traveling in winter and there's a mountain/hill nearby - snowboarding lessons?
Or rock climbing, not an expert there and probably won't be traveling with my own rope, but I could give some pointers or at least be a belay buddy (could work out for me too if you know the local crags).
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cultural exchange, travel stories? I'm happy to have someone to go do some things around your town, or spend some time talking about where I'm from and where I've been.
