My name is Brian and I live in Aurora with my 13 year old son. Aurora is located 38 miles west of downtown Chicago, it's the 2nd largest city in IL, home of Wayne's World movie.
I've been in IL for a little over 10 years, before that was California, Washington, Connecticut, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.
I was in the Navy for 5 years on submarines, now work with trains, travel often, and try to live minimally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Just to clarify a couple things; I'm here to add value to my life, add value to my sons life, and add value to my CS guest lives. I want to share experiences and create new experiences with guests. If you are out of work and looking for a place to stay since you were evicted, I'm not a charity - so keep looking. On the other hand, if you're hitchhiking around the county, play the guitar with your feet, own a three legged dog, and love to travel for the sake of travel - shoot me a line!

I have always loved meeting new people and going new places. I enjoy communicating and interacting with all people and am a believer that the world and the people in it are good.

Interests

Eating good food, drinking cheap beer, sailing, being outside, and taking public transportation. I like housework - not cleaning and laundry - but building things, painting, fixing whats broke. If I could pick my favorite thing to do on a weekend it would be drinking a cold beer, barbecuing on the grill, and walking around downtown.

Non-stop excitement - duh! I know the local area well and love going to Chicago. We'll definitely explore the city, parks, and anything else you're interested in. Depending on timing maybe take a trip north to WI for a weekend.
