Overview
About Me
I am an environmental activist with a love for wandering in mountains and forests. I have spent a lot of my life traveling by backpack+thumb or in my station wagon to seek nature, meet people, and cultivate health and strength while I look for meaningful places to plug in to the fight for a better world.
I DON'T NEED A COUCH OR A LIVING ROOM
All I need is a backyard to pitch a tent in! =)
I set up a tent, a cooler, and a couple of picnic chairs, and you are more than welcome to come out and spend time on your own terms.
I've always been a bare bones traveler: i thrive on a life of austerity which keeps me on my toes and allows me to find joy in life's deeper pleasures. I pursue my Yoga practice deeply, eat a simple but nutritious diet, and find my joy in the world around me and the people I meet.
I will never forget my first Rainbow Gathering: this was where I really learned that you can call the road your home and the spiritual path your indulgence.
My primary driving desire now, though, is to be a part of the fight for a healthy and vibrant planet full of healthy and happy people. On the road I have participated in quite a number of campaigns, sometimes settling down temporarily when there is a lot of work to be done.
I go to the gym early in the morning to work out and shower, so other than to enjoy your company (perhaps over a beer) I have no need to be inside.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to sleep in the woods, but if I MUST be in the city, I prefer to do it in a tent. Johnny Law, however, is not usually too hip to folks just pitching their tents all over town.
I always tell people that when you hitchhike, you are sure to meet very good people, because it is laid back and positive people who will pick up a stranger on the side of the road. I imagine couchsurfing is quite the same. I am always excited to meet new people who I would not have met, to hear stories I would not have heard, and to have a good old time with new faces.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once fasted and prayed in front of the American Petroleum Institute for 30 days to try to help them see clearly. It probably didn't work.

Teach, Learn, Share
Love to teach about the bridge between esoteric Yoga and physical yoga practice.
I love to tell "war stories" from the front lines of the fight for a better world.
Always love to learn about everything, particularly yoga, acrobatics, and cooking
What I Can Share with Hosts
I travel with a big bucket of trail mix, I'll certainly contribute to the beer, and I'd be glad to buy a few groceries.
I also like to cook big giant pots of economical, minimally resource intensive food and share them. My chili? Forget about it.
Additionally, folks have, in the past, been tremendously pleased with Yoga classes which I have taught.
