About Me

I'm a student of Pop Culture, history, music and art. I'm interested in film, television, rock music, comic books, art and literature. I have worked in the industries of music and books. I don't drink, don't smoke and don't use drugs and I do get along with dogs and cats. I have lived in 4 different cities in my life: Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando and Los Angeles.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently searching for a couchsurfing location in Los Angeles while I am also searching for a new permanent residential address.

Interests

I am a student and historian of 20th Century Pop Culture. I love classic rock, punk and heavy metal, pop, blues and more. I love film (current, Golden Age Hollywood, foreign, silent, cult films), I enjoy DC and Marvel comics, I like classic television, Chinese food, Mexican food and Indian food. I love the museums and galleries around Los Angeles.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite musicians include but are not limited to: the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, David Bowie, Elton John and Alice Cooper. (Don't be fooled, I also like the Carpenters, ABBA, the Bee Gees, the Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, Kool & the Gang and Al Green, just to name a few). I love classic horror films (Universal, Hammer, Toho and American International). My favorite directors include Martin Scorsese, Tim Burton, Terry Gilliam, John Waters and Ridley Scott, to name only a few. I have always enjoyd literary classics, but mostly read biographies at present.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I won't name just one: I've survived earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes. I once lived in a haunted house, I accidentally set myself on fire (I stress accidental, it has not happened since) and I am a winning game show contestant.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe my life experience as well as my work experience inform my life and help structure my personal philosophy. I also realize that I don't know everything, and as such I still have a great capacity for learning. On some things, I may have forgotten more than some people will ever know, and on others I still have a great deal to learn. What I don't know, I can always learn, but what I already know (and know well) nobody can teach me. So, I've got that to share with anybody who wants it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can definitely help with utilities, contribute with groceries and help provide household paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, napkins and tissues). I do my own laundry, I'll definitely help or even do the dishes, take the trash out and sort the recycling, and sweep floors and vacuum carpets. I am happy to help around the house any way I can.
