About Me
I'm Brian Megens, 26 born and raised in the Netherlands. However, I do not feel tied to it and will see where life takes me. Currently, I am a freelance photographer and social media reporter studying MA Media Culture at Maastricht University. I had the privilege to travel a lot during my career as a professional cyclist, something I hope to continue for the rest of my life. Luckily, Maastricht University has a lot of international students which makes me able to meet people from all around the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting people from all around the world, from different backgrounds, cultures and religions is just awesome, especially in these polarising times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After my contract ended as a cyclist I decided to travel to Dublin, stay in a hostel and follow a language course. Dublin is an amazing place and I had three awesome months which prepared me to start my bachelor at the Maastricht University
In January 2015 I traveled to the West Bank, Palestine and was hosted by locals, even in a refugee camp. Although the people didn't have much and live in a manner which shouldn't be, I experienced such hospitality that for ever I will have a special feeling for the country.
