About Me
ABOUT ME
I bring the old school and the new school together. In short: the "lifelong learner" cliche certainly applies. I'm always curious. Constantly trying to learn something from this world and the people in it. I love music. And baseball. And books (real, touch and feel books). And my family. And being outdoors.
I try to listen more than I speak and enjoy meeting new people from all over the world. I try to be a student of the world, while also being good to the world that has been good to me thus far.
PHILOSOPHY
Listen well, give people the benefit of the doubt and try to do well by the world. Though that sounds like I keep it simple, those things are inherently complex. In keeping with the "lifelong learning" thing, I tend to take alot of notes. (Once a journalist, always a journalist...)

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many to name... Ok, that's kind of a cop out answer, so I should at least give due respect to Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam, The Who, Kurt Vonnegut, Dave Eggers, Junot Diaz, Mark Twain, Milan Kundera, Ryan Adams, Don Williams, Gillian Welch, too much sad-bastard music...
I also enjoy happy surprises on Pandora stations.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
[Yes, I know it says "one" but...]
Kayaked at the foot of the Grand Tetons.
Tutored two refugee boys from West Africa during my study abroad experience in Malta.
Hiked Cinque Terre (and got stranded in Riomaggiore) with mi amore.
Got locked in a Prague clock tower.
