Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Maps, The New York Times. I have a terrible habit of reading 5-ish books at the same time and finishing perhaps 20% (which is one, by the way. I'm also great to host because I can do math. Oh. Maybe I should include that in the teaching section).

Right now I've discovered Joseph Campbell & Jonathan Safran Foer and would recommend both.

I've recently gotten into Darren Aronfsky's films after seeing Black Swan and being smacked in the face with its profundity.

Buena Vista Social club, John Coltrane, the Chieftains

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State, right near the border with Canada there are microscopic creatures in the water that glow when they are disturbed. I went on a midnight canoe trip and wherever my boat or my oars traveled, they left a green glowing trail.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am (more than) happy to teach anyone to Irish dance. I was a super competitive dancer for 10 years in my childhood but it was a poor investment on my parents' part as all I seem to get out of it are a couple free drinks on St. Patrick's Day. I'd love to share it more often than that!

Math. Adding, subtracting. Multiplying is okay and dividing depends on my temperament.
