ABOUT ME

Salaam, labas? Bixir? T3na? Hamdullah. I recently finished my Peace Corps service in Morocco and miss it terribly. I carried over what that experience taught me about what is important in life as I moved back to America as a very different person. I've got one year of farming under my belt and can hardly wait for more. The California girl is now Kentucky bound.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think the couch surfing project is amazing, and hope to see it keep going. The best way to know a place is to see it with someone who lives there. I greatly enjoyed showing couchsurfers around the rural village I lived in as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco.

Farming! living in my mud hut in Morocco, being a Peace Corps Volunteer, learning Tamazight (an unwritten, Berber dialect), hearing the call to prayer five times a day, avoiding savage dogs, traveling, cuddling with my cat and not traveling, reading about farming, writing, cooking delightful dishes, hanging out with the unbelievably welcoming people of this country, falling for mountains, and trying to hold onto some of my old life of hot springs, cinnamon tea, bellydancing, the ocean, snorkeling, manatees, NPR, yoga, fiber, writing, wool, knitting, weaving, carding, spinning, dyeing, eating, hockey, running, embroidering, sculpting, horseback riding, hiking, painting, self-sustainable living and camping the real way (no running water unless its a fall, etc.), walk-in fridges, breathing, therapy and if it really works, live music, living out loud, truth.
