ABOUT ME

I feel like I'm always in transition, always looking for different things to do. Now I'm back living and working in Canada. I have lived in a few different countries including Ireland, the U.S., Australia and Japan. My most recent live abroad experience was in Osaka, Japan. I lived there for 5 years. Loved it! So different, unique and so much going on. After, I traveled my way home and that's when i learned about Couch Surfing. I have been a traveler ever since my family immigrated to Canada when I was 10 years old. I spent the first 10 years of my life in Ireland. That move implanted a travel bug that has never left me. I love meeting new people, learning about different cultures, tasting different types of cuisine and enjoying all the laughs that go along with traveling around this amazing planet. I like studying (some) languages, drinking good coffee, beer and educating myself about lots of different topics. i like photography, design and history. I've been to about 40 different countries and always looking to get to others. Next trip....

PHILOSOPHY

You get out of life what you put into it! don't take life too seriously, travel and listen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While traveling, I have learned about the Couch Surfing phenomenon and have only heard good reports, so i decided to give it a try. It seems like it's right up my alley, meeting cool like-minded people and getting an insight into cultures that you would not necessarily get while staying at a hostel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first Couch Surf experience was in Albania. It was a brilliant experience. Adam the guy we surfed with was great, he made us feel right at home. It added so much to our experience. A beautiful hike in the mountains minus the scary scary vicious dogs and a great insight into life in Albania. Since then I have had good experiences in Guatemala, Mexico.....

Music, Movies, and Books

various kinds of music from house muzik to rock, jazz to drum and bass, and indie.
movies...usually thrillers, dramas or documentaries. Once in awhile a good comedy to laugh is good.

books...non fiction usually, but sometimes a good fiction will keep me occupied as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After I decided to leave Osaka, Japan after 5 years I took the long way home and started a trip in Hong Kong and traveled through China, Tibet, Mongolia, Russia, Eastern Europe (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Kosova, Bulgaria and ended it all in Istanbul, Turkey. It took 6 months. Lots of trains and buses, amazing experiences and cool people. I feel very lucky that i got the opportunity to take such a trip.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my travel experiences. I have traveled to over 40 countries and lived in 5 countries so far. So lots of stories to tell!
