About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To Become a Citizen of Somewhere not in the USA

ABOUT ME

I've lived in Dallas for about three years. Prior to that I was all over Texas. I'm originally from Buffalo, NY. I was in the army for a bunch of years, but wasn't really digging it.

For fun I like to exercise, cook, read, watch football, argue politics, travel and go out for beers with my friends. Oh and of course kick ass with my wonderful wife Jamie.

For work I run the kitchen at Emporium Pies. Oh you know, the best pies in this or any other world.

PHILOSOPHY

I've done a lot of living so far in my short life. Seeing how terrible war is in Iraq has changed me forever.

I don't take life too seriously because you only get one, so you need to have made the most of it. I hope to be successful so I have plenty of money to travel the globe.

It's important to eat a good home-cooked meal every day. If you aren't eating well your life sucks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted dozens of awesome people from across the world and stayed with some cool folks as well. Plus they put me in the Couchsurfing documentary promo trailer, so I can't be that bad. Watch for the Austin guy at the very beginning and very end getting dogpiled.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Love it. I enjoy getting new people into the CS community, and telling couchsurfing naysayers why they suck. I've made several lasting friends already and its great to know I have a stable of former guests around the world waiting for my visit.

Interests

Sports, especially football, working out, running, politics, cooking, reading, history, listening to music, and having fun outside in the sun.

My favorite bands are the Beastie Boys, Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, Black Keys, any of Jack White's bands, Citizen Cope, Ghostland Observatory, Mos Def, Nas, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Outkast, Weezer, the Rolling Stones, and a lot more.

The best movies are Boogie Nights, Cool Hand Luke, Team America, Back to the Future, Syriana, the Jerk, Borat, Blazing Saddles, Goodfellas, to name few.

Some of my favorite books are Benjamin Franklin by Walter Issacson, A Short History of Nearly Everything and anything else by Bill Bryson, Pale Blue Dot, Journey to a Revolution, Globish, Nixonland, Candide, In Siberia, Walking Since Daybreak, and many more. I'm a dork for history.
