About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To catch a fish on the other side of the world. (Check!)
ABOUT ME
I'm a writer/journalist and musician, published and tour-tested. I currently live on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and work as a newspaper reporter. It's a trip.
PHILOSOPHY
1:1 people are born and die. Fill in the middle however suits you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I believe in the universal give and take. I both surf and host. My best CS2 surfing experiences have involved some very helpful hosts, so I would love to return the favor by showing you around town.
I've surfed in the US, Hungary, Ireland, Austria and Mongolia. And hosted several people back in The States.
Interests
Things I like: local music, wiffle ball, barbecue, beer, whiskey, bandanas, journalism, Nintendo, films, DIY, christmas lights, longboarding, lacrosse, hurling (the sport, not the regurgitation-type), camping, fishing, building stuff, traveling, sitting on roofs and porches, photography and LPs.
Things I hate: bees and close-minded people. But especially bees.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Yeesh. I listen to a lot of different artists and genres of music. Some favorites are: Howlin' Wolf, Tom Waits, The Rolling Stones, The Can Kickers, The Clash, Man Man, Booker T & The MGs, Thelonious Monk, John Lee Hooker, Bob Dylan, Wu-Tang Clan, T. Rex, Pixies, Pine Hill Haints, Doc Watson, Drakkar Sauna, A Tribe Called Quest, Beck, Split Lip Rayfield, Misfits, Otis Redding, John Prine, Outkast and the list could go on. I love to talk about music.
Movies: Wes Anderson makes some of my favorite films. I love documentaries. The local independent theatre back home was one my most frequented places in town.
Books: Catcher in the Rye is one of the only books that I've read mulitiple times and it gets better each time. I think that for a while Hunter S. Thompson, in his bumbling, cursing and obtuse way, wrote with a clarity that many great historians, sociologist and other -ists' never corralled. All things equal, I think non-fiction trumps fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I delivered a baby in an elevator then lied about it on my CS profile.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you some basic chords on a banjo/mandolin/keyboard.
Countries I’ve Visited

Countries I’ve Lived In
