ABOUT ME
18 countries. 11 states. world wins.
I just completed a one month backpacking tour through: Midland, TX, Limerick, Cork, Kilkenny, and Dublin, IRE, Rouen and Paris, FRA, Lisbon, POR, Sevilla, Granada, and Barcelona, SPA, Milano, ITA, and Hamburg, GER. I'd love to meet to share our experiences. Preferably over beer. Tschuss.
Social, open minded, restless... always eager to meet new people and experience new things. People don't ever take me seriously, probably because I'm always joking around. I'm a pretty simple guy, I enjoy a good beer and just chatting but I'm also pretty adventurous. I like to go out in the city and explore the outdoors.
I studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark in Fall 2008. I really enjoy exploring different cultures and people. I like to find local hot spots, trying new cuisine, drinking beer (although I'm quite a lightweight).
This summer I will be traveling again to Europe. I'm going to visit friends from my study abroad program in Ireland, France, Spain, & Italy. I'm going to try and partake in some CS activity as well.
I often question the purpose of life. I have learned that life is not about the riches you can aquire but rather the experiences you make of it. I hope to live a stress free life and divulge in cultural cuisine.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Before I discovered this website there was one Couch Surfing experience that changed my life.
In December 2008 my study abroad travels were coming to a close. I made one last trip throughout Europe. I had just arrived in Paris after spending a days worth of touring in Brussels. Once I arrived I quickly checked the available trains back to Copenhagen (my home). Sadly, I found out that I only had the night and part of the morning to explore as that was the only train available. I had quickly called my friend who was traveling from Copenhagen to Paris to meet me to let him know I had to depart early and could not spend the day with him. I ran into great difficulty with the pay phones at the train station and an older gentlemen approached me. He offered to help me with the pay phone. It didn't work. He offered to let me use his cell phone. That didn't work. Just when I thought my luck as running dry he walked me to a phone store to call my friend. This man knew very little english. Being an American in Paris I did not expect any empathy from the French. I was mistaken.
After an exhausting day in Brussels I spent the night exploring the paris Arc de Triomphe and the Eifel Tower. I was in one of the Metro train stations where I opened my travel guide to find a hostel to stay in. At this point I was just about ready to crash in the Metro instead. Another gentleman in his mid 20's approached me and asked what I needed. I told him I was looking for a hostel. He offered to help me and looked through my book. He even called the hostels for me. However, none of the hostels had any space. I felt as if everything that could go wrong did go wrong. unexpectedly, he said he was on his way home and lived very close. He said I could stay at his place if I didn't mind. I was caught offguard, but I had a good gut feeling. I decided to stay at his appartment. We had a good chat and I had found out he had just arrived from a months stay in America. He cooked me a French meal and we chatted about our travels. He also wrote me a tour iteneray to visit for the few hours I had in the morning. I ended up seeing everything I wanted to see (in a snapshot).
I asked him why he helped me. He said he experienced the same thing in India and wanted to pass along his goodwill.
It was a life changing experience that I will never forget...
