关于我

CURRENT MISSION

Blazin my trail through Europe...

ABOUT ME

I'm 27 years old. I love wine, street food, and my dog. I have the most tattoos of anyone at my law school, and about to get another one in London. I like to play guitar and cook, even if I'm not very good at the former. I dig lots of music, from jazz and blues to hip-hop to honky tonk southern rock. I'm pretty much open for anything and just want to get the most out of my travels, domestically and abroad.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life one day at a time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

ummm...my participation thus far has been quite sparse. but now that I'm actually in Europe, i figure i need to start moving on this thing and finding a few free places to stay. :-P Id be more than happy to return the favor if anyone would find themselves in Milwaukee. The Algonquin had it right, it is The Good Land.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, my couch surfing has been limited to a few stays in Huntington Beach CA, Madison WI, and Seattle WA. Seattle was definitely the most interesting experience, where we went to the now-defunct Club UnAmerican, the only remaining speakeasy in the States, with more gambling tables, flapper girls, and port-o-johns than i've ever seen in one building. RIP Club UnAmerican.

兴趣

I love food...cooking it, eating it, searching for the best I can find. Some of the best meals I've had have been random back-alley joints, usually stumbled upon with a few friends and turning into an unforgettable time.

I enjoy traveling, obviously, and just wish I had an unlimited budget to hit every place I want to go, from Sicily to Tokyo, Chile to Moscow, and anywhere that looks interesting along the way.

音乐、电影和书籍

I dig most of Tarantino's films... Pulp Fiction used to be my favorite, but I think Inglorious Basterds might have stolen that top spot. Otherwise, its Big Lebowski, GoodFellas, Snatch... this list could go on forever.

Music: Lucero, Sublime, Social Distortion, Johnny Cash, Junior Brown, Atmosphere, Flogging Molly, and any random reggae. Guitars are good, guitars and an offbeat are even better.

not gonna lie, i dont read much. going to law school and spending dozens of hours reading every week doesn't really induce my interest to read more than I have to.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Amsterdam for the recent World Cup Final. Watching the game at Museumplein in a sea of orange (oranje), with flares and fireworks randomly igniting across the crowd, was the most energy I have ever felt watching a sporting event. Only regret that they couldn't pull it off... I've never rooted so hard for a team that I had nothing invested in otherwise...

教,学,和分享

1. Don't travel unknown lands without a compass. Seems basic and boy-scoutish, but it sure has helped me stumble back to my room in London when I couldn't tell which way was up.

2. Be nice and personable in first impressions, but not fake. It just makes you lose credibility and turns you into a joke.

3. Don't judge an eatery based on the cleanliness of the interior. If these places were making people sick, they wouldn't be in business for very long. And if I only dined in places where I could eat off the floor, I'd miss out on some of the best BBQ, po'boys, and people watching in the world.
