About Me

CURRENT MISSION

learn how to enjoy life

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Upstate NY. After Spending countless winters in NY I decided that I never wanted to see snow again and drove the worst car I ever owned 3000 miles to Los Angeles.

In Los Angeles I spent 7 years working in the Film Industry. I designed and built sets, props, and mechanical effects used in film, television, theater, and corporate trade shows.

Afterwards I moved back to the Syracuse area, and currently live a few miles north of Oneida lake.

I am currently working as an industrial mechanic. I troubleshoot and repair high speed packaging equipment, automated material handling systems, and industrial robots.

I have degrees in Industrial Automation, Technology, and Business

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I don’t have any official couchsurfing experience yet. However, several years ago I discovered Contra dancing (it is similar to square dancing), when traveling to out of town dances, the organizers routinely matched out of town dancers like myself up with local hosts. It has been a wonderful experience; I’ve made friends throughout the North East this way.

Interests

I had an absolutely amazing summer (the best ever); I explored new cities, hiked numerous parks, been white water rafting, gone caving, and went skydiving for the first time.

• I enjoy going to festivals, live theater, movies, and playing board games
• I love activities such as dancing, walking, hiking, biking, swimming & kayaking
• I enjoy traveling, exploring new cities, and going on cruises

Carpentry: I enjoy wood working projects, anything from large residential remodeling project, to finish carpentry, and cabinet making. I also posses related skills such as electrical, plumbing, machining and welding.

Gardening:
I have a 4000 square foot vegetable garden that is always productive, but that is never tended to as well as it should be (It always get overgrown with weeds).

Dogs: I had 2 German Shepherds that I loved.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, If you have any Do It Yourself type of questions relating to carpentry, electrical, or plumbing I’d probably be a good source of information. I also have some expertise in welding, metal fabrication, machining, industrial automation, and technical theater but I doubt those topics will come up.

I love to dance; I’d be happy take you to a Contra or Polka dance with me and show you the ropes. (I think I’d like to learn to salsa dance)
