About Me

I grew up in San Jose, CA and went to school on the East Coast and graduated in 2015. I worked as a software engineer in the Silicon Valley for 2 years and am now getting my PhD.

Despite being from the tech geekiest city in the world, I am very social and love to make friends. I always enjoy hearing about my hosts'/guests' life experiences, and getting to make new ones with them!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love being exposed to new ideas, interesting stories, and unique people. I love making new friends, and offering whatever I can to make my new friends' lives just a little better.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: House of Leaves, Fault in Our Stars, Tana French novels, Infinite Jest

Movies: From vastly different veins-- Bridge To Terabithia (which makes me cry like a little bitch every time I watch it), anything by Christopher Nolan, and Wedding Crashers.

Music: This changes too often for me to feel okay about writing anything down. I really love Styx, the song "Hallelujah", and the Counting Crows. Those are probably the only things I'm sure about in life

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I road tripped across the USofA with someone I met one day before. We for some reason thought it was a good idea to listen to the audiobook of "The Shining" while we drove. No one went crazy though, even though we spent 3 weeks (and about 100 hours in the car) together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

- I am really good at untangling headphones. I could untangle some of yours.
- If you have a harness, I could build some anchors and we could rock climb somewhere together! I'm in Yosemite most weekends hehe
- I'd love to cook for you (I am not a 5-star chef, but I put in a 5-star effort).
- I'll find and buy you the best beer in your local pub and teach you how to be a beer snob about all the other beers
- But most of all, I enjoy conversations of all ranges (from light-hearted to witty banter to complaining about the current state of the world/our lives to deep emotional content) and would love to share my experiences and learn about yours
