About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live life to the fullest & love every minute! Hablando sobre eso, mi familia y yo vamos a trabajar y vivir en Motril, España por el año 2024-2025. Estoy tomando un sabático de mi escuela 👍✅

ABOUT ME

Friendly, lots of energy, go getter, athletic, humorous, what else? I love to travel and meet people. I am definitely a thrill seeker!

PHILOSOPHY

I truly believe, life can be FUN, simple and exciting most of the time if you let go of many of the 'fear' driven sides of our society today. I want to embrace that positive connection that brings our world together by meeting more new people, trying new things and daring to dare.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I had a slow but fun transition into the cs world. I had been recommended it when I was living in Chicago. I intended to use it more often when I moved to South America (mainly Chile and Peru but traveled back to the states ie Phoenix, AR from Tierra del Fuego) but really ended up hosting when I was a climbing & kayak guide in the National Park Torres Del Paine in Patagonia, Chile. That is when I really got to experience how wonderful & safe it is. My roommates and I were hosts via their account on CS and so we had lots of travelers stay with us. Through that experience I definitely felt even more proud of the community of traveling support & connections cs was/is making. Then I used it when I couldn't find anyone else to accompany me on my trip to Barbados for the marathon there. Seemed like a perfect option...I was definitely hesitant since this was really the first time I was solely depending on it. I haven't looked back since! COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Usually couch surfing had been mainly associated with road trips or ultimate frisbee tournaments...where a friend of a friend has a place to crash etc. in a town where I wouldn't normally be.

Interests

Just about anything outdoors and sports related and happens to be a ton of FUN: whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, snowboarding, ultimate frisbee, running marathons, triathlons...

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Not a big movie watcher but enjoy comedies and mysteries.
Music: A wide variety, everything from hip hop to bluegrass...A random sample: Jurassic 5, The Roots, Nora Jones, Dispatch, Keb Mo, Allison Krauss

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I summited the tallest peak in Australasia (Mt.Cook in the New Zealand Alps), 18 hours later, I was done and happy/amazed to say that was the most intense mountaineering experience I've ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

Some more expertise in the areas of the physical/mind & body (personal trainer, pilates/yoga/bbarreless instructor, BodyTalk basic certification) so discussions and/or questions about these topics are always engaging! I am currently teaching health enhancement (physical education & health) for grades K-5 at 1 of our 9 elementary public schools. I’ve also taught as a non-specialist in the general education classroom ranging from elementary to high school (varying subjects) in private and public schools...as well as ESL for adults when I lived in Peru and special education in New Zealand.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will make sure you know all about the amazing activities Missoula has to offer and can usually get you on the river during the summer or snowboarding/skiiing in the winter. I also love to cook so am definitely down with sharing a home cooked meal!
