关于我
ABOUT ME
I just moved to Portland but love it here so far! My husband, Joe, and I moved here so he could go to graduate school at PSU in I/O psychology. You probably haven't heard of it because it's a super small field but it's really interesting. Give it a google if you're curious. So now we are here. I just graduated in May 2012 in dietetics and am now working as a dietitian, which I'm really happy about. After I graduated, we went to Europe for two months - Andalucia (Southern Spain), Barcelona, Paris, and Rome. (We didn't couchsurf, but I wish we would have.) It was an AMAZING experience and I can't wait to travel again. Anyway, my husband is super busy with school right now so I need peeps to hang out with!
So a little about myself. I love being outside and have found that I need at LEAST a couple hours of being outside every day (being in the car doesn't count) or I feel too cooped up. On sunny weekends I try to get out and hike or do something outside. I would like to go backpacking every sunny weekend if I could find someone to go with me. I love all the amazing restaurants around here and need to experience more of them. I love food and sweets especially (yes, even though I'm a dietitian :). Salt and Straw is probably my favorite dessert stop in Portland. I like to think of myself as a pretty down-to-earth sort of person. I can get stressed but am pretty chill when it comes to people and different points of view. I'm a talker. I love talking to people and I'm pretty extroverted. I love being in crowds and socializing and experiencing new things.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to use couchsurfing mainly as a way to meet people. I'm kinda new here in Portland, don't know many people here, and love hanging out doing whatever and experiencing new things. I probably will use someone's couch sometime because I love travelling.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have yet to have a couchsurfing experience, but my friends who couchsurf only have good things to say.
兴趣
I love FUN, which to me is hiking, biking, backpacking, camping, knitting, yoga, going to concerts, travelling, npr podcasts! (TED radio hour, This American Life), documentaries, movies, eating really good food, DIY, farmer's markets, cooking/making/brewing stuff from scratch, craft markets, lunch, brunch, dessert, sushi, running, swimming, skiing (but don't go much because it costs about $500 to go one time). I love learning how to make new things, whether that be kombucha, different types of food, or a TV stand.

音乐、电影和书籍
I've been really loving The National lately, Fun., Jack White, Andrew Bird, Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, The Shins
I love the early M. Night movies (yes, even Signs), Fantastic Mr. Fox and others from Wes Anderson, the Sherlock Holmes movies. I just saw "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" on Netflix - totally loved it. Shows I like include Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, and Psych makes me laugh.
I consider myself a Harry Potter fan even though I read the books only once - I don't like to re-read books. I enjoyed the Hunger Games. I like Michael Pollen's books and want to read his new one about cooking. Barbara Kingsolver's "The Poisonwood Bible" and "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle."
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
The most amazing thing I've ever seen has to be the Sagrada Familia. Started in 1920-something and still not finished?! Crazy! And the detail... unbelievable. I think I stared at that building for three straight hours when I visited last summer.
教,学,和分享
I'm pretty good at cooking and knitting. I would love to learn how to make stuff out of wood. I just got a circular saw and a jig saw and I really want to make some furniture.
