About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a 30 year old Irish guy. I have lived in 5 countries, on 3 different continents and have travelled to many more. I enjoy the adventure of meeting new people from all different places and walks of life. I just like chatting to random people I may not usually meet at home everyday.

I graduated into mass unemployment in Ireland and rather than sit around complaining about the economy I decided to pack my bags and go in search of work elsewhere. So basically I have been floating around the world for the past few years working in some interesting jobs. Some relevant to my studies and some very far removed. It has been an adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

Trying to experience as much of the world as I can in my twenties. Variety is the spice of life and a great education too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm only just setting this up now so I'm still new to this website. I am hoping that when I get back to Ireland or the UK and get set up with a new house and a new job that I will be able to host couchsurfers, because even when I myself am not travelling I still want to meet people from other countries and hear their stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From my experience and from speaking to my friends and other people I have met travelling, it seems extremely difficult as a guy to get accepted compared to a girl. I assume a lot of this has to do with the fact that the overwhelming majority of hosts are male. A sad reality.

When I lived in Australia I brought two couchsurfers on a road trip in my car during the Christmas holidays and it was a very enjoyable experience. I have also surfed in Sao Paulo and actually got to know the local shop keepers in the area as I just like talking to people.
