About Me

35 and currently traveling to visit old friend. A lot in life has changed since I was last on couch surfer. I've lived in Minneapolis, Santa Cruz, central MA, Eastern MA, and recently returned home in Western MA. I became a sheet metal worker for a while and now moving into being an electrician. I play banjo, love riding bikes, hanging out with friends, meeting new people, hanging out at coffee shops, getting back into reading more, and recently bought a home. The new house is basically a hobby of its own given all the work that needs doing. Recently married and loving the life we're building.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I was apart of putting together a show with Peter Tork from The Monkees. That was awesome. He was kind enough to play for free so that we could put on a fund raiser for the local community resource center (The Brick House) and the music company that the Brick House was currently trying to start. I was amazed that he was willing to come to some tiny little town he had never heard of to play at a tiny burrito shop that noone had ever heard of.

- As for an awe inspiring thing I've seen. . .I'd have to say one of the most impressive was the level of friendliness and caring I've seen riding buses across the states. I remember being in Port Authority in New York and I was talking to this guy, telling him about how I misssed my bus and ran out of money and didn't know if I was going to be able to get home without having to spend a night on the streets of Springfield, MA. For those who don't know, Springfield has often had one of the highest murder rates per capita. Really sketchy place. But anyway, a moment later he was talking to a group of people in spanish (i don't speak spanish so I was clueless about what they were discussing), and all of a sudden people were handing me what change they could spare and shoving me at a soda machine to get some juice. Then he hands me his lunch and refuses to hear my complaints about being uncomfortable with all this. Truly, taking things from strangers is generally something i avoid. I was always taught that it was rude and you needed to be self-reliant. Things like this happened all over the country. Every where I looked people were helping other people. I really enjoyed it. Coming from Mass people tend to be very stand-offish and don't even make eye contact with strangers. Probably why people think we are jerks.
